Machinery sector: an overview of conformity processes
The Machinery Safety Directive is mandatory in the EU market; Regulation (EU) 2023/1230, the Machinery Regulation, has replaced 2006/42/EC and will apply from 20 January 2027. A notified body is involved only for products on the high-risk machinery list.
