How it works

Three inputs, one screen, a full roadmap

  1. 01Select your productThe product group is the first input that determines the list of applicable legislation.
  2. 02Select the target marketThe same product is subject to a different mark and approval regime depending on the market it enters.
  3. 03RequirementsLegislation, test families, documents and technical dossiers are listed.

What is your product?

Type your product or pick it from the list. A conformity project starts with the product, not the test.

An honest limit

Questions the finder cannot answer

This tool works based on product type and market. Many things that change the conformity decision are product-specific and only emerge when the product is examined:

Which class does the product fall into?

The risk class varies within the same product family; for medical devices, the class directly determines the conformity route and notified body involvement.

What is the intended use?

The same hardware may fall under different legislation depending on the intended use. The declared purpose determines the scope.

Who is the user group?

A product accessible to children is subject to much stricter requirements than the same product otherwise.

What components does the product contain?

When a radio module, laser, battery or pressurised section is added, the list of applicable legislation changes.

Where is it manufactured, who is importing it?

Whether the obligation lies with the manufacturer or the importer, and whether an established representative is required, is determined accordingly.

Which transition periods apply?

In legislative changes, the transition timeline depends on when the product was placed on the market.

Let's work out the scope together

Tell us your product, its intended use and target markets; we'll list item by item which legislation actually applies and which tests are required.
