Have us confirm whether the report or certificate you hold was issued by us, its scope, and its validity status.
Verification request
This form does not run a database query; it forwards your request to the documents department. Confirmation is communicated to you in writing after the record has been reviewed. If you are a third party verifying a certificate, you do not need to know the company name.
Personal data you submit with a verification request is processed solely to respond to that request. Details are in the Personal Data Protection Notice section.
Process
How does verification work?
1. Find the document number
The number is on the first page of the report, within the header block. On certificates it is usually in the top right corner.
2. Fill out the form
Provide the document type and, if available, the issue date along with the number; confirmation is faster with these three pieces of information.
3. Get written confirmation
The documents department reviews the record and reports in writing whether the document belongs to us, its scope, and its validity status.
What should you check on the document?
Before asking us about a document, comparing the following fields on it usually provides sufficient information.
- The number on the document, the issue date and, if applicable, the validity date
- The name and address of the company that holds the document
- The scope of the document: which product, which standard, and which test/inspection
- The name of the unit that issued the report and the authorised signature
- Page numbering — reports carry the total page count in "x / y" format
Common mistakes
Use outside the scope
A report belongs only to the sample submitted for testing. A claim that the same document covers another model or batch is not correct.
Partial reproduction
Part of a report may not be reproduced without the written approval of the issuing body. A report shared as a single page is incomplete; request the whole document.
Scheme confusion
A test report and a product certification certificate are not the same thing. The scope under which it was issued is written on the document; we explain this distinction on the Accreditation page.
